Think about these questions:
What will I gain by achieving this goal? What will I lose by achieving this goal?

Think about how your goal achievement will change your life.

For example, if you are trying to control your weight, you will lose fat and you may also lose friends who would rather see you in the fat state you are in. For some reason they may feel that your success in weight control diminishes them in some way. I am sure in your life experiences you have similar examples on how friends and relative really perceive you and support you in your success.
